Thomas holds a Ph.D. in Statistics and Econometrics. He spent 18 years as Associate, Partner and Senior Partner at McKinsey & Company, advising clients in insurance, financial services, and IT. After an interlude during which he studied AI, Linguistics, and Computer Science he founded Kauz in 2016.

Kauz started in 2016 as the premier provider of linguistics-based chatbots in Germany. After being a pilot partner of GPT-3 it switched to a hybrid model, combining LLMs with its own NLU-Engine to power Chatbots and ai-Assistants for companies of all sizes. Today Kauz' ai-Assistants are used by more than 180 companies and institutions, among them many savings and cooperative banks.
